Using a variety of techniques, Samreth’s ultimate aims are to establish public interest legal advocacy as a viable component of the legal profession, and to instill a culture in which legal norms are valued and implemented.  We seek to accomplish this through our pro bono case work and other public interest activities. Since 2004, a group of lawyers, who are now the founding lawyers at Samreth, have been working to promote the rights of the poor and to develop a culture of transparency and accountability, using public interest legal advocacy. We remain committed to providing such services free of charge for the poor and in important public interest matters, and are grateful for the outside support which enables us to conduct these activities REPRESENTING THE POOR IS THE OBLIGATION OF CAMBODIAN LAWYERS To this end, in programs and workshops we continue to promote the idea of “pro bono”lawyering.
